First Week of School

Well I / We survived the first week of school.   It was a close call at times, but we managed to walk out Friday afternoon standing straight.

Here are some of the highlights from last week...

Tuesday night was Back to School Night for our school.
A prize the kids that completed the Back to School Checklist

So many papers are sent home.   So much important information.
I've got to figure out a way to condense it and make it easier on the parents.

Back to School Night
1.Photo Booth
2. Behavior Chart :)
3. Reading Tree
4. Desks ready for kids and their parents.  Green Folder is our class folder.
It gets sent home Tuesday and returns back to school Wednesday.
5. Back to School Checklist.

We do a Staggered Start at my school.   We take the first three days of school and divide the kids evenly throughout those days.   This year, I had 5 kids start on Wednesday, 5 on Thursday, and 5 on Friday.   Then, all 15 join together on Monday.  It's a great way to go through rules and procedures so the kids really understand them.   We also tour the school and meet other teachers.   It seems to stick with the kids better and they aren't so overwhelmed.
First Day of School
I love fun little activities that parents can keep as memories for their kiddos
